Marie Drew has found her art to be an ideal creative outlet from her day job as a software analyst in a financial institution. After being re-acquainted with soft pastels about 18 months ago, Marie revels in the tactile qualities and the vibrant colors of the medium. Seeking ways to express texture, light and color, Marie uses a variety of delicate lines, interwoven layers, and broad painterly strokes.

Marie also expresses herself with oil paints, after a long hiatus from this medium. She enjoys painting directly, "drawing" with the brush without an under drawing.

Marie exhibits her award-winning art in area venues and serves on the Arts/Wayland board of directors.
